Racheal

Founder/Owner/Head Pole Instructor.

World Pole Dance Competitor.

Professional pole athlete and performing artist based in Galway city. 2010 after discovering pole before it was acknowledged as a world sport, Racheal searched for a fitness alternative after having her first baby. Signed up to a six week pole course feeling like pole dance could bring her sexy back and so it did. Over the past 8 years running the studio Racheal has inspired a community of pole enthusiasts here in the west and bonded people through friendships at her pole classes. She loves all things about pole to suit her different moods just like music and teaches pole dancing classes with and without heels. Racheal is a versatile pole instructor and has mastered skills on both static and spin pole.

Lisa

Lisa is from Germany but found her home here in Ireland. She
started pole dancing 4 years ago at The Pole Garage and was hooked
after completing her Starter course. Lisa loves to stay active & has a
background in different types of dance. She takes ballet classes &
performs in musicals when she’s not at pole class. She trains 3 times
a week on the pole since she started at the garage. Her favourite
element of pole is spinning pole. Lisa has a shine for the stage,
having performed at Electric Picnic 2019 and our very own show
Pole Garage After Dark a few times!

Lisa also has a passion for horse’s, her horse is called Shadow.
Lisa recently launched a new business called Karma which is an
eco-friendly online store, using recyclable materials to produce
quality water bottles, leggings and more – on a mission to save
the planet.

Lisa’s motto is doing what you love through movement.

Alice

Originally from Lyon, France, Alice first started pole fitness in 2015
in the Czech Republic, after struggling with body image and self-
confidence. She then joined the Pole Garage as a student in late
2017, where she was hooked thanks to the head instructor, Racheal,
and the great community spirit in the studio.

Pole has since then become a big part in Alice’s life. She loves
the feeling of empowerment that pole dancing and performing
gave her, and this is what she wants to transmit to her students,
along with a safe and powerful fitness training.

Alice loves the versatility of pole dancing, but her favourites are
tricks up the pole and the grace of spin pole. She believes in
regular practice and dedication, and that anyone can achieve their
goals if they put the work into it.

Prior to pole dancing, Alice has trained in gymnastics and
kickboxing for many years where she competed in both sports.
She is also keen on circus skills (acrobatics, trapeze, etc) and
enjoys playing with fire!

When not at the studio, Alice likes to travel, relax with a book
and a cup of coffee, and train at home on her own pole, in her
living room. Alice is also an activist for women empowerment in
the workplace.

Alice’s motto is practice, practice, practice!

How the studio was named…..

Racheal worked in the motor industry and wanted to be a motorbike mechanic when she left school at 16, at the time no such courses existed in Ireland. She chose to take a training course here in Galway which involved working in a garage. She learned how to weld, spray paint, light car mechanics and how to fix crashed cars. She stripped and rebuilt a motorbike, ZX6 from a road bike to a track bike, learned how to repair and spray paint petrol tanks and panels. She then went on to become a qualified panel beater by trade with Toyota Ireland, even while pregnant on her son she continued to work and passed her exams in the trade. Racheal has worked in many local garages and dealerships here in Galway!
Today the Pole Garage Ireland is a representation of her dedication and hard work. And a vision that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, just believe in yourself!
